Finally, eBay sellers will now get credit for taking care of repeat customers. Previously, a repeat customer's feedback rating only had a 1 point effect on a seller's feedback score, no matter how many items he bought over his history with the seller. Now, a repeat customer's feedback will count on each item purchased, with the following guidelines.
1) Transactions must take place in separate weeks to qualify for a unique feedback point.
2) eBay defines a "week" as beginning on Monday AM, and ending on Sunday PM.
3) Example - if a customer purchases 4 items from John Doe Seller during a week as defined by eBay, his feedback rating will only have the effect of 1 point. ![]()
4) This change will also help sellers' DSRs as we continue to take care of our loyal customers. Our customer's ratings will count over and over again, each time transaction occurs, instead of just once.
Basically, eBay is rewarding sellers for developing long-lasting relationships with their buyers and when the customers continue to return over the long term and make purchases, their feedback ratings will have a positive impact on the seller's score.
I think this is one of eBay's better decisions. As a seller for over 5 years, I often see regular customers come back seasonally - either to purchase golf shirts in the spring, to shop for Father's Day clothing in June, for winter sweaters, or at holiday time. It will be nice to watch those feedback points add up throughout the year during these multiple purchases.
