
Meg Whitman, CEO of eBay, is set to retire, according to a report by the Wall Street Journal. Whitman joined the company in 1998 when eBay had only 29 employees, and was only one website, eBay USA. According to Forbes magazine, Whitman's net worth is approximately $1.5 billion and she ranks among the richest people in the world.
In the Wall Street Journal's report, first in line to succeed Whitman is John
Donahue, the current president of eBay Marketplaces.
Donahue joined eBay in 2005, and led the acquisition of the ticket exchange center, StubHub for $307 million. Donahue was also behind eBay Express - the sector of eBay that offers only new products.
