On January 16, eBay announced some changes to its Trading Assistant Program. A Trading Assistant is an eBay seller who sells items on behalf of another person, for a fee.
The phone call I received from eBay today explaining these changes reminded me to write this post. First of all, the name "Trading Post" has been changed to "Registered eBay Drop Off Location," or REDOL, on all signage, marketing materials, and advertising. The word "auction" is no longer allowed in a TA's or REDOL's name unless the TA or REDOL operator is a licensed auctioneer.
Other changes include:
New eBay search features to help customers locate a TA in their area more quickly
Showcase function to display a TAs satisfied customers - sort of a feedback for TAs
New, free marketing materials such as business cards and mailers
2 Separate user agreements - one for TAs and one for REDOLs.
Read about all the changes on eBay's General Announcement board.
