Another disadvantage of drop shipping on eBay is the oversaturation factor. There are only a limited number of companies offering a limited number of items to eBay drop shippers. The photos and descriptions of the items are provided by the drop shipper. Many categories on eBay are becoming over saturated with the same exact items.

For example, I did a search for "New Ipod Nano Pink." The search produced 358 results. Many of the 358 listings show the exact same photo, description, and starting price. Where is the competitive advantage? Why would a buyer choose one over another?

In my opinion, doing the legwork yourself and finding items at garage sales, thrift stores, estate sales, or at consignment stores will produce higher profits and give you a competitive edge on eBay.
