If you've been on the internet for more than five minutes in your life, you have seen them. eBooks and kits claiming that you can get rich selling on eBay. The ads usually show an attractive couple relaxing on their yacht that they purchased with their massive eBay profits. Far too many people portray eBay selling as sitting at the computer for a couple of hours a day, chatting with a wholesaler, and watching money roll into a Paypal account.
One day, just for fun, I contacted a few people selling these how-to eBooks and kits. I asked them what products they sell and could I take a look at their eBay stores. I was interested in their stories- how they went from rags to riches using eBay. Either they did not answer, or they claimed they had another eBay user id for selling, but would not share it. I wasn't surprised - they did not provide any proof that they ever sold anything on eBay.
Beware of eBooks, kits, and training that promises wealth and huge profits selling on eBay. These people are in the eBook business, not the eBay business. The
reality is that eBay selling is hard work. Actually, this is one reason I have written my own books on eBay selling - to explain the truth - you are not going to become a millionaire by selling on eBay. (You can become a thousandaire though.)
You must treat eBay like a business, be persistent, think creatively, and adapt to consumer trends. You will not get rich selling on eBay. But, if you are dedicated, educate yourself, and treat eBay selling like any entreprenurial venture, you can make money from home.
