Are you offering your products or services internationally? If not, you may want to reconsider. A few facts:
1) eBay has over 247 million users worldwide.
2) 49% of the eBay users on the USA site are located outside of the US.
3) Supply is a problem in many other countries. Consumers have the money to purchase items, but goods may not be readily available in their country. International customers look to the internet to purchase consumer goods.
4) International customers love American products. Examples: Levis jeans, Ralph Lauren clothing, popular toys, country and western wear.
5) You don't have to worry about language barriers. eBay and Paypal do all the translating and currency conversion for you.![]()
6) Even if international customers don't win your item, their bids will help drive the price higher. You will dramatically increase the bidding pool by including international bidders.
7) International customers frequently purchase used items. They recognize quality and understand that high quality items are durable and hold their value. Many of my EUC (excellent used condition) clothing items are shipped abroad.
8) International customers frequently buy more than one item at a time from the same seller to take advantage of shipping discounts.
9) International customers often are repeat buyers. Since many eBay sellers do not offer worldwide shipping, when an international customer finds a seller who he can easily work with, he will return to purchase more items.
10) International shipping is not difficult. Get the 17-page guide, "eBay International Shipping Made Easy." Step-by-step instructions (with photos) explains exactly how to fill out forms, address the package, and explains regulated and prohibited items.
