Is There A 12-Step Program for eBay Addicts?

I came across this slide show on one of my eBay forums this morning. Apparently, this young man's mother is an eBay fanatic and has purchased an absurd number of items from eBay over the years. It looks like an addiction.

The poor guy can hardly walk through the house. Boxes, books, trinkets, refrigerator magnets, clothes, crafts, calendars, paperweights, and "stuff" is piled almost to the ceiling in every room. Guests can't come over - there is no where left to sit on the furniture.

His slide show is titled "Crazy eBay Mom" and shows a tour through his mom's cluttered. The house looks relatively normal from the outside. But then we enter "The eBay Zone."  Remember, this person is an eBay buyer, not a seller. I wonder how much of my inventory is in her house. Guess I don't have to worry about returns from this customer.

WOW that is scary!
Sadly my dining room and office are starting to look like that. I'm a seller but I get so backed up in listing items that it starts to pile up! I need some inspiration to list :)

The key is not to buy anything else until you sell what you have already bought or accumulated. Your investment (inventory) cannot work for you if buyers can't see it.

If you have access to thrift stores and garage sales, supply is not a problem. Consider those bags and boxes of stuff as cash lying around your house. Get those items listed soon after you purchase them. Buyers can't buy what they don't know exists, and you can't make money on inventory that isn't listed.

Have you considered being on the show called "CLEAN HOUSE "Wow they would deliver you and your mom . They go to cluttered homes sell everything in a yard sale and whatever money you make they match it and redo your home .I am sure you guys will qualify :)

Good luck
