If you have done any buying on eBay, you have encountered sellers who charge outrageous shipping fees. Some examples that I have seen are $12 for a CD, $39 for a pair of medical scrubs, and $7 for a 3 oz plastic Christmas ornament.
This sounds good in theory, but circumventing fees is strictly prohibited on eBay. If you are reported by another seller, your listing may be removed, you can lose your Power Seller status, and possibly have your account suspended or terminated. Read eBay's rules about excessive shipping charges.
Play by the rules and keep your shipping charges fair and competitive. A good rule of thumb is to search for several other sellers selling the same type of item, and set your shipping fees somewhere in the midrange of what your competitors are charging.

I try to just make sure things go out priority mail and that's it, most users are willing to pay for premium.
Gouging them isn't in the cards though.
