Information is a hot selling product and a great way to make money on eBay. A while back, eBay restricted digitally distributed items (e-books, original MP3 files, etc.) to fixed price listings and required immediate payment through PayPal.
Yesterday they removed the restriction on listing type, announcing that sellers may list digitally distributed items as a regular auction or auction with buy-it-now as well as the fixed price listing and eBay Store inventory previously allowed.
Payment for digital information products must still be from a credit card or existing balance from PayPal, but the immediate payment requirement is no longer in effect.

eBay fought e-book and other information sellers for years, but now they have realized how high the demand is and have made policy changes to make it easier for sellers in this niche.
With the recent increase in eBay Store fees, being able to list at regular auctions again is a welcomed break.
eBay's restrictions may seem strict at times, but this actually does you a favor because it helps weed out scams and immoral sellers with junk ebooks. This makes buyers more comfortable buying from the reputable sellers that remain.
The beauty is, you can be an information seller as well as a seller in any niche market. It actually lends credibility to your e-book if you can show you are an expert in the field you are writing about.
