In other words: No one needs what I have to sell. When I see auction sales declining and the number of determined buyers steadily decreasing, it suggests that casual eBay users, who are not obsessive collectors, have dropped out of the market because they have more important things on which to spend their limited resources - such as gasoline and housing and food. And because the luxury of collecting is one of the first things to suffer in an economic downturn, an eBay decline may offer warning that larger economic disaster may be on the horizon.
So let's give eBay President Meg Whitman a break. If you feel the pinch in your eBay income, perhaps the blame should be directed at a greater (or lesser?) Chief Executive in Washington who has wasted tens of billions of tax dollars on a pointless foreign war that can't be won.
It's not eBay - it's the economy, duh, Mr. President.
