Tom De Nert has come up with an interesting idea. He is auctioning off two identical items on eBay, while adding video to one of the auctions. His goal is to see if one of the auctions ends with a higher bid than the other. Tom is also an associate with VMDirect, a Network Marketing company that sells the tools used to produce the video.
I have been wanting to do this for a while ...
Video says it better, there is no doubt about it. Or is there? Time to back up our statements with some proof.
I have put two identical items up for sale on ebay. One with just a bit of text and the other one with some VMdirect helloWorld video that I pasted into the html editor in the auction listing. The experiment is to see which one of the two will fetch the most money. Sure, I could have made my video a bit more salesperson-like. But I didn't. Because like most people, I am not a salesperson.
Anyway, the items for sale are the only two identical items we had in the house, so my girlfriend will be furious when she finds out I am selling her Pilates book on ebay. There was also two identical The Pixies-Greatest Hits CDs but no way I was gonna sell those!
Here is the ebay codes 120004575961 and 120004583254.
If you would like to try the video-on-ebay thing yourself, just email me on "tomdenert at helloworld.com" and I will give you a free 30-day trial so you can feel the power yourself. Enjoy your day.

Ty, great post. In addition to writing here at KMM, I am also a customer/affiliate with VM Direct, as is Tom. I love using video...I have used it on eBay, and use it to send e-mails. It will be interesting to see which auction does better, but in my mind video rules.
Keep up the great posts, Ty, and welcome to the KMM family!
