eBay PowerSellers react to the new fee increases:
beckenator:
First of, they are justifying increasing in listing price because *supposedly* it cost more to host store item than auction? I would like to invite everyone to look at Froogle, just do a Google search, and type in Froogle if you don't already know what that is...THIS IS HOW MUCH LISTING COST: NOTHING!
vacs-4-u:
So Long eBay hello Google. I have outsold on Froogle the last 2 quarters and guess what spent a fraction of the time I have to on ebay customers and their listing system....Now if google also goes auction style eBay is dead in the water.
littlequiltshop:
Does it shock anybody that eBay during it slowest sales time ever announces rate hikes? Just more par for the course.
merchandise-overstock:
...we list 50,000 items per month an average; the cost is $1,000 at 2cent per listing...because 90% of my listing is over $25.00 the listing fee going to be at 10 cent per listing. Now my listing fee is $5,000 an increase of $4,000 plus an increase in final value fee.
That percentage increase is far from marginal, and will have a great impact on Powersellers.
