No kidding. Germans and people in the UK are using eBay a lot more. These help drive eBay's listings number up over 28% from last year during this quarter. Incredible? Obviously. To put it in perspective, that means that if eBay had 100 million listings last year at this same time during the year, this year they now have 128 million. A huge number. And considering that listings in the book categories are up 425% and listings in music are up by 201% in Germany alone over the course of a year, you can see why the online auction giant is doing quite well.
As it continues to grow, I bet we can expect to see more and more items up on eBay. Eventually, sales should continue to grow in other countries as well as the computer era continues to grow. It will be very interesting to see whether or not people from more third world countries will start to use eBay.
The only real problem is with shipping overseas, it does get pricey. At any rate, eBay is doing great and as it continues to expand, we can expect to see more items that are hard to find, which, by the way, is what eBay is noted for.
Happy treasure hunting and selling!
