eBay Chatter Jeff gives us the scoop on The Devil Wears Prada:
Fresh off some simple
Superman analysis, I'm back with another interesting movie note.
The Devil Wears Prada, an adaptation of the book about "a naive young woman who comes to New York and scores a job as an assistant to one of the city's biggest magazine editors, the ruthless and cynical Miranda Priestly" (thank you
IMDB!), hits theaters tomorrow. The magazine she works for happens to be one of the top fashion mags, so you know the movie is going to be chock-full of trendy styles and hip outfits.
So what does this have to do with eBay? Well, they're taking a bunch of the outfits worn in the film and auctioning them off here on the site, giving you the chance to own part of the movie. The sales will benefit Dress For Success, which helps disadvantaged women transition into the workforce. It's a cool idea for a great cause, and its also gotten a good amount of press attention from newspapers. Check out blurbs in the Seattle Post Intelligencer, the Detroit Free Press, and the Rocky Mountain News (or simply Google "devil wears prada + ebay").
