Warren Buffet, supposedly the second richest person in the world, will be dining with up to eight people at a Manhattan steakhouse. What does this have to do with eBay? One bidder on eBay will have the privilege of dining at this steakhouse with Warren Buffet. Believe it or not, the last time it was checked, the bid was at $500,100. Over a half of a million dollars so far. It is quite an expensive lunch. So why is Warren doing this?
Since 2000, Warren has dined with up to eight people in order to benefit the Glide Foundation, a non-profit organization based in San Francisco that helps homeless and poor people. Bidding started on June 22, and will end this Thursday, the 29th at about 10PM EDT. What is amazing is the fact that eBay is being used for just about everything. From lunch with the world's second richest, to tennis shoes and sewing kits. What is next? Dinner with Bill Gates?
