Reports are surfacing that Google's GBuy is going to be much more than a Paypal-like payment system.
If Google enters the arena of person to person online selling as some predict, eBay Power Sellers may be hard pressed to contain their excitement.
Perhaps industry pundits are over analyzing this when looking for clues about Google's intentions. The truth may lie in the name....GBuy....eBay....GBuy....eBay.
If GBuy is simply a payment system to buy stuff off of Google Base, I will be extremely disappointed. From a seller's standpoint, Google Base is a big mess of a flop so far.
Google has the potential to issue the first ever whack upside of eBay's head when it comes to competition and eBay may have egged them on with their new AdContext, adwords-esque program.
