Justin C. for PowerSellerKing:
For those of you that may have already heard of Skype, eBay's new VOIP program , some users will now be using it even sooner the expected. On the 4th of July, eBay intends to release it on their website so people can click the "skype me" button on auctions to talk live with the seller. Some sources say it is for the UK users only, other say it is for anyone, which in time may well come to pass. At any rate, people will now be able to communicate to others when it comes to auctions.
A great addition? Of course! This was a great move on eBay’s part. Skype has 53 million users that are registered with them. This gives major companies an edge now. We have Google with it's chat, eBay with it's new chat, and Microsoft has messenger. Google has normally held the lead, but who knows, maybe eBay can pull away now that it has a new chat, and it now can rival Google Talk by publicizing it on the eBay site. So watch out for the 4th of July.
